Brief description of site: A boulder lying a few metres to the west of LW18. Also on top of the hill but set further back among other rocks. A small protected surface positioned above a low shelter. Too far from edge of hill to have good view, looking into trees and rocks. Arduous but simple access. Brief description of art: 2 filled animal depictions, both almost identical executed by brush. Style of depiction is relatively naturalistic and it is clear that they are antelope. Shape of horns is suggestive of sable. Both are in a stooping posture.
Brief description of site: A short boulder with a flat top and surfaces cutting inwards towards a narrow base. Shaded seating provided by overhang and limited protection. Again near edge of hill with fine views south. Arduous but simple access. Brief description of art: A circle with externally radiating lines and various lines of dots. All applied by finger in red.
Brief description of site: A boulder on plateau area half way up eastern side of Makwangwala hill. Boulder has split into two halves with a narrow passage in between. Passage provides shade and shelter for 2 or 3 persons. Slightly raised up, not particularly obvious. Looking into trees. Brief description of art: A set of parallel horizontal lines, applied by finger in red.
Brief description of site: A long vertical rock-face runs along halfway up the north-east side of Malupsya hill. This site is a low, inset, protected surface near its southern end. Merely a protected surface, little shade or shelter. Fine views along valley below, good observation point. Brief description of art: The art consists of a half circle open at the top with 3 vertical internal divisions. Applied by finger in red.
Brief description of site: A section of protected surface near the north end of the same rock-face as MAL-MUP1. Rather better protected than MAL-MUP1 with more shade but again very limited shelter. View rather hidden by trees but otherwise similar to MAL-MUP1. Brief description of art: A vertical sausage shape with single internal vertical division and a set of parallel diagonal lines, applied by finger in red. Over sausage shape have been painted a series of white dots a head and two arms (in my opinion this is a later attempt to make motif resemble nyau - makanja). Beside this is a small human design (resembling a nyau face-mask character). All this is overlain by 2 outline charcoal zoomorphs (nyau-kasiyamaliro & chimkoko). Also square white zoomorph in white (similar to some at DE123) (probably nyau) overlain by filled black humped charcoal motif (nyau - chimkoko ? with unusually tall central hump). Another similar design executed in filled white and recently outlined in charcoal (nyau - chimkoko). 2 quadruped designs in filled white. 2 outline charcoal zoomorphs with no legs (nyau - kasiyamaliro).
Brief description of site: The site is on an overhanging rock near the top of the South West side of the hill. Brief description of art: The images are very faint and consist of a red grid and a very faint ladder.
Brief description of site: The site is on a long leaning rock-face near the top of Maye small hill. It provides very little shade or shelter with good view to east. The site is relatively easily accessible. Brief description of art: The art is all very faded and washed due to the lack of protection. Many more motifs may have existed but are now destroyed. Most of the motifs that remain are sets of parallel vertical lines as well as a larger meandering sausage shaped motif with a circle at its top. All the images were applied by finger in red.
