Brief description of site: The site is on the South end of Mazozo Hill, the site is clearly visible but small. It is in a group of boulders at the south west corner of the hill. The site has pleasant shaded seating but is much too small for habitation, it has a good protection from an overhang.

Brief description of site: The site is on a small recess set into rock-face on North Slope of small Mbira hill. It is a pleasant shaded site but with limited shelter. Looking into another hill immediately opposite and is easily accessible. Brief description of art: The images consist of a few well preserved but unusual designs some in red, others in white. All the images are open to limited washing. There are white designs are on top, but they are fainter due to greater susceptibility to washing.

Brief description of site: The site is on a large recessed shelter near the top of Mchenga hill. 30m2 of well protected and shaded floor, the site would make an ideal habitation. It is also well secluded and is not obvious until one gets close. Good views over Linthipe river valley to the north. Brief description of art: The surface is flaking in a number of places and it is probable that more pictographs existed of which there is no trace now. There is a small spread-eagled design daubed in what looks like brown mud. Various short lines appearing in sets of 4 as a cross without
the central section, and vertical rows of short horizontal lines applied by finger in white. Also a set of vertical lines, 2 sets of horizontal lines and few thick short lines applied by finger in red. Over some of these are various outline zoomorphs in charcoal (nyau - mainly kasiyamaliro ).

Brief description of site: The site looks over a wide flatter area which turns into a steeper slope. The site is among a large number of small rocks stretching along the hill range. This seems to be the only real shelter. The site is not well hidden and good for long term habitation. Brief description of art: All the images are in a similar red applied with the finger. Many of the images have been washed due to seeping water.

Brief description of site: The site is on a very large boulder sitting on the lower slopes of Mlanda Hill's east side. There are a number of surfaces that are protected by narrow rock lips but there is little shade or shelter. Vegetation screens off the eastern side providing a protected and secluded area. The floor is scattered with broken pottery suggesting the site was utilised and is easily accessible. Brief description of art: The art consists of 4 sets of concentric circles, 1 with externally radiating lines. 8 vertical rectangles with rounded corners and multiple vertical internal divisions. Also a few sets of parallel vertical lines and a set of more complex parallel curving lines. All the images were applied by finger in red. Much of the surface is open to washing and it appears that there may have been more images of which there are now no traces.

Brief description of site: The site is on a boulder sitting among other boulders and fields north of Mlanda hill. The one side is slightly protected by a narrow overhang and has limited shade, no shelter and no view. The site is easily accessible. Brief description of art: The art contains a short vertical line crossed by a short horizontal line and a filled oblong shape. All the images were applied by finger in red.

Brief description of site: A small recess set into boulder. Positioned among other boulders at the eastern end of Mlunduni mountain. Pleasant shaded seating for 2 persons but limited shelter. No view, easily accessible but hidden. Brief description of art: Whole surface still in process of erosion and flaking. Only damaged traces of red lines, applied by finger, survive.

Brief description of site: A low recessed shelter, half way up hill on southern side of Mlunduni mountain.Pictographs just above entrance. Shelter quite large but ceiling less than 1m high, floor also
strewn with small rocks. Seems unlikely that this can have been inhabited. Views over valley area below and even over edge of escarpment to lake Malawi. Fairly accessible.
Brief description of art: A circle with multiple vertical internal divisions and a set of parallel vertical lines. All applied by finger in red.

Brief description of site: A large boulder in rocky gully near south-west comer of Mlunduni mountain. About half way up hillslope and access involves quite an arduous steep walk. Small overhang provides limited protection and shade, not habitation site. Rock surface quite rough. There are 2 much smoother and better protected boulders below and another above but these were ignored. Site has good view looking down into wet area to the west. Brief description of art: Many sets of parallel vertical lines, 3 circles, a circle with externally radiating lines, a half circle open at top with multiple internal vertical lines, a grid and 2 sets of vertical parallel lines curving to the left. All applied by finger in red. Rock surface dark, pictographs hard to see.
