Brief description of site: The site is in another raised shelter providing less protection. Accessible only by difficult climb up rock-face. Shaded and secluded, good views over treetops to Muyayaya. Brief description of art: 2 filled animal depictions of uncertain species and rear section of another. Accompanied by 3 large and 3 small designs that give the impression of depictions of people with arms raised. Also some unique designs that are rather triangular but otherwise similar to bat-like motifs. All executed by brush in red. Overlain by rows of dots and short lines.
Brief description of site: The site is on an small protected rock-face directly below ZAM-MWE30. No shade, no shelter merely a clean surface. Looking into trees, easily accessible. Brief description of art: The art consists of a clear bat-like design and two others similar but faint, accompanied by dots in groups of threes. Clear bat-like design overlays dots.
Brief description of site: A leaning boulder that provides a degree of protection to one side. Limited shade, no shelter, looking into trees and boulders, easily accessible. Brief description of art: The art consists of faded horizontal rows of dots applied by finger in red.
Brief description of site: The site is on a 10m2 surface on large boulder protected by a small overhanging lip. The site is opposite and facing ZAM-MWW69. The site is slightly shaded and there is no shelter and it is easily accessible. Brief description of art: The art consists of the rear section of a faded animal (front section eroded away). A simple filled body with stick legs of a species uncertain. Above there are multiple fresh looking horizontal rows of dots. To the right there are concentric circle with a vertical bar in the inner circle. There are 2 more circles with single internal vertical bars. 1 circle with single internal vertical bar. 2 horizontally stretched circles with single internal horizontal bars. A half circle open at base with single internal vertical division. A grid within a half circle faded out at base. The art is all applied by a finger in red.
Brief description of site: The site is on a high surface (251cm above ground) on a tall rock face amongst boulders. Due to the height the images are widely visible despite being set back amongst the rocks. The site is easily accessible. The site looks south towards Sumina, if it was wooded the view would have been poor. Brief description of art: The art consists of a single arc of dots, applied by a finger in red.
Brief description of site: The site is on a protected surface on a large boulder. The site is at the edge of Mwela rocks facing outwards to the west. Due to the raised position the site has fine views. The site is relatively easily accessible but somewhat hidden amongst boulders. There is a low rock adjacent to the surface that provides a pleasant shaded seat from which the images must have been executed. Brief description of art: The art consists of various rows of dots, applied by a finger using red pigment.
Brief description of site: The site is on quite a low surface and is well protected by a long overhang. The site is at ground level and is easily accessible. The site is in a dip between two clusters of boulders. The painted frieze is clearly visible to anyone passing along the dip. The site has no view. Brief description of art: The art consists of one bat-like motif applied with a brush and filled in dark red. To the right of this is an internally segmented oblong design applied by a finger in red beside this is a much smaller but similar shaped design.
Brief description of site: The site is on a small protected surface (40cm2) on a boulder beside the modem Mwela stone quarry. The site is therefore much disturbed and its original nature is hard to judge. Brief description of art: The art consists of a set of concentric half circles open at the top and a few short vertical lines applied by a finger in red.
Brief description of site: The site is on an adequately protected 1m2 surface in a low overhanging boulder. The site in an island of rocks within Mwela stone quarry. The site was originally probably quite well hidden with little view, there is no shelter and little shade. The site is a merely suitable surface. Brief description of art: The art consists of two unusual animal depictions of uncertain species and brushed in red. The top one has a narrow but filled body with a line of an unfilled body just below the line of its back it has stick legs and no head. The second image is again filled in red but gets darker along its base outline this image also has stick legs and no head. There is also what looks like a basket and the body of the basket solid filled and executed in red using a brush. There are a few surrounding dots applied by a finger in red.
Brief description of site: The site is on a low section of poorly protected but clean rock-face. The site is situated 12m south of ZAM-MWW112 in a similar setting. The site is pleasantly shaded and has seating for 1 or 2 persons. The images are too small to have ever been visible from more than a few meters. Brief description of art: The art consist of about a dozen miniature animal depictions of which some very faint with single line for a body and stick legs. Each design is around 4cm in length and executed in red by a brush. All the images are arranged around a filled pigment stain that may be an older, larger, animal design (has a suggestion of a tail). There are similar miniature animals found at ZAM-MWE22 and ZAM-MWW76.
Brief description of site: The site is on an isolated boulder on the centre of a flat rock at the top of Pamwamba. The Painted face is widely overhung by a large rock lip. The area by the images is pleasantly shaded and a number of small rocks provide ideal seats. The site is an excellent day-time sheltering site but not suited for habitation. The site has limited view and is visible to those on the hilltop and is easily accessible. Brief description of art: The art consists of a set of parallel vertical lines and various rows of dots executed by a finger in red.
