Brief description of site: The site is on a large protected surface up in the centre of the hill, it is completely secluded among tall rock-faces. Pleasant shaded site and limited amount of shelter. Access is not difficult but not obvious. Brief description of art: It is surprising that on this large clean surface there is only a single small pictograph. It is a small outline animal depiction. Very simple in style, species uncertain. Applied by brush in red.
Brief description of site: The site is on a boulder, with a section cut into its base, providing 2 well protected vertical surfaces. There is shaded seating for one person but little protection. Sits amongst other boulder, not widely visible. Easily accessible. Brief description of art: A filled animal depiction with large body, stick-like legs and large curving horns. Horns are suggestive of a bovid, perhaps a buffalo. Another faint small design to left with filled body and stick back legs. Front section covered by water stain. Probably an animal depiction. Very different in style to other animal, probably by different hand. Both animals executed by brush in red.
Brief description of site: The Surface on a small boulder at edge of group of boulders looking into main west hill and trees. No shade, no shelter, easily accessible. Brief description of art: The art consists of 3 horizontal rows of dots applied by finger in red.
Brief description of site: The site consists of 2 painted surfaces opposite one another in a narrow gully. 1) A small area of clean rock under a good overhang that juts out above head height. 2) A relatively large surface recessed into boulder. Pleasant shaded seating possible around both panels but little shelter. Each has limited outlook, facing one another and looking into trees and rocks beyond gully. Easily accessible but only visible to someone passing close by. Brief description of art: Ostriches. 1) Two filled birds depictions (almost certainly ostriches) and two smaller but similar bird depictions (which I presume to be baby ostriches). Also quadruped filled animal depiction of uncertain species. All in similar pigment, executed by brush, probably by same hand, perhaps intended as a single scene. Under these are various horizontal rows of dots applied by finger. Left of all these is a crude thickly applied vertical line crossed by three horizontal bars. 2) On second surface is a small circle surrounded by a circle of small dots attached to a horizontal row of small dots, applied by brush in red. Left and below these are massed long vertical rows of dots applied by finger in red.
Brief description of site: The site is a slanting rock-face near the top of a little hill between Mphunzi and Chigwenembe. The site is poorly protected offering little shade or shelter. It is easily accessible and has a reasonable view of the valley area to the east. Brief description of art: The art consists of 6 sets of parallel vertical lines and 7 sets of parallel short lines. All the images are applied by finger in red. The site is open to some washing by rain water and is thus faded.
Brief description of site: The site is on the east side of Hora Mountain and is quite high on the slope just below the solid rock part of the hill. The site lies on boulders towards the southern end of the hill. The site faces east into a range of Mountains.
Brief description of site: The site is a small open shelter measuring approximately 9.80m long, 4m wide and 2.3m high. The site faces south westerly. Brief description of art: The images appear finger painted in red monochrome pigment. The panel surface has traces of indeterminate white motifs. There are geometric shapes such as a circle with a red dot, an irregular spread-eagle design in red outline with red circular motifs below it. There is also a distinct gridiron motif.
Brief description of site: The site is a relatively small low shelter that goes deep into the rock with a very small aperture. Access to the shelter is by crawling. It is a conspicuous rock at the south west end of the saddle-shaped hill. Brief description of art: The images are in white and are on the ceiling of the shelter. It is difficult to see all of the images clearly since they are covered in graffiti. Those that can be seen include, a V shaped motif with a central line that ends at a point where it meets a rayed outline white circle. This motif is approximately 45cm long and 30cm wide. There is another rayed circle with a long line on one end next to another geometric motif. These images are not familiar motifs in the rock art of this region, but probably formed part of the regular repertoire that has been lost due to flaking and graffiti.
