Adamai I
Site
Brief description of site: The shelter is approximately 5m wide, 3m deep from the drip line and 3m high. The shelter as a small boulder sitting on a larger boulder at the edge of an old quarrying site. The shelter is relatively concealed by bushes. The shelter has a southerly outlook towards the plains. Immediately below it is a pool of water that appears to be as a result of quarrying rather than a natural formation.
Brief description of art: It is difficult to conclude whether the variations in pigment colour are as a result of several episodes of painting at difficult times, or whether they were painted at the same time. There are traces of red and white pigment of unclear motifs. The red is a very dark colour. Red motifs appear as smudges at the extreme left of the panel. All red motifs appear to have been finger painted, whereas the orange dots appear to have been painted with a brush or a pointed implement.
