Brief description of site: Uitspan Klipheuvels I, is an engraving site located on the edge of a small kloof on top of the hills. The site is composed by several engravings made on Dolerite boulders.

The site is well preserved. However, the relevant precautions should be practiced in order to protect the site from any damage.
Recommendations
Management should only allow visitors to see the site only when accompanied by a responsible person. This person should ensure that the visitors do not touch the paintings at all.
The number of people visiting the site should be restricted to maintain control over the group and to prevent people scratching the rocks with stones or other materials such the legs of a camera tripod.
Employees and visitors should be informed about the National heritage Recourses Act, 1999 which states that:
No person may destroy, damage, deface, excavate, alter, remove from its original position, subdivide or change the planning status of any heritage site without a permit issued by the heritage resources authority responsible for the protection of such site.
Such a person, if successfully prosecuted, is liable to a fine or imprisonment for a period not exceeding five years or to both a fine and imprisonment.
