Brief description of site: The site is on a large area of widely overhanging boulders running along a small stream valley on the western side of Chongoni Mountain. There is excellent shade and shelter as well as a number of possible habitation sites. The area is well secluded and only accessible along some narrow rock passages. The site has no outlook Brief description of art: Main painted panel includes 3 spread-eagled designs, one decorated with black dots, also a snake-like meander and various dots, all daubed in white. On a higher surface over 4m above the ground there is another spread-eagled design and a quadruped, also daubed in white

Brief description of site: A large overhanging boulder at edge of same group as DE48. On lower slopes of Chongoni mountain west side. Site well shaded and protected, providing a possible habitation site. Excavated by Mgomezulu in 1976 who found evidence of long period of human activity at the site. Site has to be passed to get to main passageway leading to DE48. Brief description of art: The art consists of a large horizontal sausage shape with multiple vertical internal divisions, a vertical sausage shape with single internal vertical division, 8 concentric circles 5 of which have externally radiating lines, 1 circle with externally radiating lines, 2 large parallel horizontal but downward curving lines, a few sets of parallel lines. All the images are applied by finger in red. There are also many faint red traces. The red motifs give the impression of having been executed over a long period of time by differing artists. Over the red motifs there are 3 zoomorphic designs and 3 masked human dancers executed in outline charcoal (nyau - chimkoko & kapoli)

Brief description of site: The site is on a large isolated boulder on the lower slopes of Chongoni's west side and is not far below MAL-CGN 15 and MAL-CGN16. The small shelter is recessed into a boulder and provides shade and protection but is too small for habitation, and has an outlook into trees. Brief description of art: The art consists of 3 panels. The first is a rough surface within the recessed shelter and contains a few modern zoomorphic designs executed in outline black charcoal (nyau - kasiyamaliro). The second panel is on an overhung surface on the west side of the boulder there are 2 spread-eagled designs (1 vertical, 1 horizontal) and the bottom half of a damaged 3rd design. All daubed in white, horizontal one is decorated with black dots. The third panel is on a poorly protected surface on west side of the boulder and there are 3 sets of parallel vertical lines, one crossed by short horizontal lines, a few dots. All the images are applied by finger in red.

Brief description of site: The site is a large boulder on a lower hill slope near the north-west corner of Chongoni Mountain. It leans to the west providing shade and limited shelter. There is a small recessed cave at the base of the boulder that runs back into the rock. The site may be inhabited by animals but is too small for people. The site looks out over the plain area in front and is not widely visible and relatively well secluded amongst rocks and vegetation. Brief description of art: The site consists of 2 panels. The first is on a flat but poorly protected surface at left end of the rock. And consists of various faded vertical and curving lines along with other traces, applied by finger in red. The second is on a well protected rough sloping surface above an entrance to a low cave, and contains 2 spread-eagled designs daubed in white

Brief description of site: The site is on a boulder on the steep lower slopes of Chongoni Mountain's south-east side. The boulder leans to the east and has a small recess at its centre. The site is pleasantly shaded and a small area is well protected. It is not large enough for habitation and has impressive views to the south and east. It is a good observation point for watching game or people movements in the Lombadzi river area. Brief description of art: The art consists of a small spread-eagled design, 2 areas of massed dots, a circle and a rectangle filled with dots. All the images are applied by finger in white. There are also a few sets of parallel lines, a circle with multiple internal horizontal divisions and a few other faint traces applied by finger in red.

Brief description of site: A boulder at the base of the south-east slope of Chongoni mountain. A low recess provides shaded seating for 4-5 persons and limited protection. Too small for habitation. Looking into trees; easily accessible. Brief description of art: 2 filled schematised bird depictions, a similar human wearing short skirt beside a quadruped. Also a few large dots, some of which have been joined by lines. All daubed in various shades of white (probably nyau mask figures).
