Brief description of art: On the left of the shelter are several human figures with vertical rows of finger dots between them. Several other rows of finger dots run horizontally across the panel. There are also roughly circular designs with vertical internal divisions painted all in red. These are probably related to the finger dots. Recent research has shown that these and similar designs where the work of people practicing a herder economy who moved through the area in the last two thousand years. These are the people who, in historical times, became known as the Khoi. What these designs mean and why they were made is currently unknown, but forms a focus of ongoing research.
On a higher facet of rock is a horizontal zig-zagging thin red line. The importance of this line is explained in the description of Grassdale II.
