Brief description of art: Felines, geometrics, Finger Dots.
Grassdale II

Brief description of art: The are very few paintings in this shelter- only a few human figures and the remains of an antelope. The paintings are obscured by a mineral accretion.
Grassdale III

Brief description of art: On the left of the shelter are several human figures with vertical rows of finger dots between them. Several other rows of finger dots run horizontally across the panel. There are also roughly circular designs with vertical internal divisions painted all in red. These are probably related to the finger dots. Recent research has shown that these and similar designs where the work of people practicing a herder economy who moved through the area in the last two thousand years. These are the people who, in historical times, became known as the Khoi. What these designs mean and why they were made is currently unknown, but forms a focus of ongoing research.

On a higher facet of rock is a horizontal zig-zagging thin red line. The importance of this line is explained in the description of Grassdale II.

Brief description of art: There are only a few paintings at this site.They are situated low down at the back of the shelter.There several depictions of highly decorated bags. Bags are often associated with transformation -in several myths, characters go into bags where they transform into other creatures. A second interesting painting is a possible depiction of a porcupine. Finger dots.

Brief description of art: Conservation
The site is in a fairly good condition with no immediate or particular threats. The usual precautions should, nevertheless, be taken when visiting the site.

Recommendations
To prevent future conservation problems, it is recommended that the following measures be put in place.

Strangers should only visit the site with the permission of, and accompanied by the farm owners.

Large groups of people should not be taken to the site; they will create excessive dust that will settle on and obscure the paintings.

Plants in contact with paintings should be carefully cut out.
