        Conservation action taken: Conservation
Paintings in shallow part of the shelter are mostly poorly preserved; those in the deeper part are in better condition. There is some graffiti in both charcoal and red ochre. Cattle have been in the shelter and have been rubbing against the panel and roof. This consequently contributes to the destruction of the panel and the underlying deposits. Dust is also a major problem in the site as it is slowly covering the paintings.

        Recommendations
To prevent future conservation problems, it is recommended that the following measures be put in place.

Livestock should be prevented from entering the shelter. The erection of any physical infrastructure, such as a fence, may require a permit from the relevant heritage agency.

Strangers should only visit the site with the permission of, and accompanied by the farm owners.

Visitors and farm workers should be informed about the importance of the site and the problems that graffiti causes.

Large groups of people should not be taken to the site; they will create excessive dust that will settle on and obscure the paintings. Care should be taken when walking in the shelter to prevent stirring-up excessive dust.
