How to find the site: Directions taken from the Solitude Resort direction sheet. Take the path at the left hand side of the brick kiln heading in a westerly direction up the hill, in front of cottage 3. Proceed around the bend at the top of the hill across the plateau in a southerly direction. Pass the old kraal site on the right. Follow this path a short distance to the junction and then turn right. Follow this path for 15min, to an angled junction with the path from the Forest Guard's huts. Pass a boundary beacon on the left (white painted cairn of stone). The path will cross a small stream and pass a tree growing in midst of a group of rocks on the left. Shortly beyond this there is a large lone rock on the right of the path. At this rock look up to your left to the site. There are three bands of sandstone cave, two lower narrow bands and a top deep band where the paintings are situated. In the crevice on the left is a waterfall. Further to the right is a lone yellowwood tree. Between the waterfall and the yellowwood tree you will find the site. Leave the path and proceed across the flat to the base of the hill. Follow the grassy slope through the first and second bands of sandstone. At the top of the second sandstone band turn left. Go down into the dip, cross a small stream and rise out of the dip to a shelf at the base of the sandstone. Make your way between the yellowwood tree and sandstone, the paintings are just before the waterfall.
