Brief description of site: The site takes the form of a granite ridge that protrudes into a large dry riverbed. The site is really a very high but shallow overhang associated with two small circular inner caves. The site faces SE and has a localised view of the riverbed. The main body of Bushman rock paintings are 2.5 m above the present surface level.
Brief description of art: There are approximately 25 individual Bushman rock paintings. The dominant image cluster measures 140 cm x 110 cm and comprises figures exclusively in red and black paint as any white paint has long-since weathered away. There is a 55 cm tall red giraffe with a snouted head. There are also 3 smaller red giraffe, one with very delicate feet, and two red human figures that hold bows and arrows - the archers. Their arrows have a characteristic 'tulip' point. Cm tall small red human f. Lower down near the ground there are at least two human figures associated with what may be a kudu. Two red tsessebe are interesting as they appear to have a darker red body outline; suggesting that they were painted in outline before being infilled. There is at least 1 smaller springbok-like animal. An interesting cluster of images is painted in black and consists of a human figure encapsulated by a circular black line.
