Biografie

Brief description of art: Site is in a low shelter on a bend in the spruit. Well preserved. Site contains a vast number of cattle and sheep, many executed in shaded polychromes and painted in white. The field notes are unclear, but it appears that there is only one panel. On the left side of the panel is a painting of a red cow that has a line leading from its rump into a crack. To the right of this cow are 4 figures with white faces, pink karosses, and red arms and legs. The figures on the extreme right is carrying a stick (possibly a bow) and arrows. These 4 figures are associated with the sheep or antelope that is depicted in an unusual front view perspective. Forty centimetres to the right 2 figures that seem to have their karosses drawn up over their heads. Their faces, legs and arms are red. The figure on the right of this group is touching a sheep. The average size of these 4 figures is approximately 140mm tall and the sheep is 48mm high and 80mm wide. Eighty centimetres to the right are more white sheep. One of these sheep is running. The sheep have fat bellies and thin legs and tails are visible on some of the figures, but it is not clear whether they are fat tailed sheep. Close to the sheep is a depiction of a cow with an udder. To the right of the sheep is another figure with its kaross pulled over its head. A polychrome cow is also close to the kaross clad figure. To the right of the cow is a bovid that has a thin red line painted from its right shoulder down to its left front hoof. Immediately above the bovid is a smaller bovid. Although the field notes are unclear as to their position, there are 2 depictions of horses that used to be polychrome. To the right of the horses are another 2 bovids, one of which is a bull. The 2 bovids are associated with white, walking, figures. Although it is unclear, the white figures may be infibulated. On the extreme right side of this panel is a faded depiction of a changing figure in red and white.
